A TEENAGER has been arrested after two boys were robbed in a park by an 'older boy' with a 'gun'.

The incident happened in Cookson Close in Burnham-on-Sea at around 8.45pm on Sunday, December 1.

Two 16-year-old boys said an older boy with his face covered threatened them with a gun and punched one of them in the face before taking a mobile phone and a bicycle.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said a 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident but he has been released under investigation.

"An imitation firearm and the bike were recovered by the parent of one of the boys," the police spokesperson said.

"Police seized the stolen mobile phone.

"Officers investigating the incident arrested a 17-year-old boy overnight. He was later released under investigation.
