POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Martock.

The incident happened at around 9am on Sunday (November 24).

Three men forced their way into a house, assaulted one of its occupants and threatened others with weapons, including a hammer.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Russell Head said: “This was a shocking incident and we’re taking it very seriously.

“The victims don’t know why they were targeted and have been left so traumatised by what happened they have moved out of their home.

“We’re keeping them updated with the progress of our investigation and ensuring they’ve the support they need.

“As part of our inquiry we’ve visited neighbouring properties to identify witnesses and are reviewing CCTV from the area.

“We also need the public’s help and I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time who may have witnessed the incident or seen something suspicious.

“In addition, I’d like to hear from anyone who can tell me who the owner of a small blue Mercedes car which was seen in the area around the time of the offence is.”
