A MAJOR route in Yeovil is set to be resurfaced this month - but will see the road closed overnight for more than a week.

The resurfacing will require a road closure between the Bluebell Roundabout and the Westlands Throughabout and will take place overnight to minimise disruption.

Works are scheduled to take nine weekday nights, starting on Tuesday, October 29, with the road closed between 8pm and 6am.

Cllr John Woodman, Somerset County Council cabinet member for highways, said: “This is important work and has been planned to take place at off-peak times to minimise any disruption to the public.

"If you do need to travel in this area during the closure then please take note of the dates and times and plan your journey carefully.”
