SOMERSET’S Everly Brothers tribute band is to make a return appearance to the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton, and this time they will be helping to raise money for the Samaritans charity.

The band features BBC Points West correspondent Clinton Rogers and his brother Stan, who has been a Samaritan in Taunton for a number of years.

Stan said: “Working closely with the charity gives me an insight into the important work they do with some of the most vulnerable people in our society. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and we just thought we should do our little bit to support them.”

Cleverly Everly and the 60s Tribute Show will be appearing at the Brewhouse on Saturday, October 26. It will be the band’s fourth visit there and a percentage of the income from the show will go to the charity.

The brothers – together with Stan’s wife Uta and lead guitarist Steve Craig - have enjoyed tremendous success since forming a tribute act to their favourite musicians five years ago.

Clint said: “We had such a tremendous time at the Brewhouse last time we played and to be asked to come back is a real honour.”

The Cleverly Everly act also features guests who help to recreate music from what is often known as the golden age of pop music – the 60s. Cover versions of hits from artists like Buddy Holly, Dusty Springfield and the Shadows will be played, and there’s also a bit of comedy thrown in for good measure.

Stan added: “For us it’s all about bringing back memories for the audience and getting people to let their hair down. The idea is you don’t leave without a smile on your face.”
