A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after she crashed her car into some bushes and did not know where she was.

Two fire engines and a heavy rescue vehicle from Yeovil were called to Foldhill Lane in Martock at 3.51pm on Wednesday (September 25) following a call from the police who were on the phone to a woman who had left the roadway, gone into bushes, and was unaware of where she was.

The woman said she was travelling from Bridgwater to Chilthorne Domer.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said: "After extensive investigations, as the lady believed she was so far into the bushes and wedged in trees she could not be seen from the roadway, fire crews found her car.

"Fire crews confirmed one vehicle completely embedded in a hedge with one female driver still inside the vehicle but not physically trapped.

"Firefighters gained access by removing debris with small tools so they had full access to the vehicle.

" Ambulance carried out observations on the lady before fire crews released her from the vehicle using crew power.

"The lady was conveyed to hospital by road ambulance and the incident was left in the hands of Police."
