THIS weekend will see the return of South Petherton’s Carnival, after a shock cancellation in 2018.
The parade will kick off at 7.30pm on Saturday (September 14) in Lightgate Lane.
The route will loop around the village along Lightgate Road, Harvey’s Road, St James Street, Palmer Street, Summer Shard, West Street, into the square, back along St James street, Roundwell Street and then back up to Lightgate Lane.
All prizes will be given back at the recreation ground.
The Bournemouth Carnival Band will start at 7pm to play in the centre of the village.
The fair will also be at the recreation ground from Wednesday to Saturday.
There are currently around 25 entries, including the band, walking entries, majorettes and floats.
The carnival returns after resident Heather Thomas took up the vacant role of chairman.
