A SERIES of successful sponsored runs could become an annual fundraiser after more than 70 people turned out to give a cash boost to four charities.
The event was organised by Chard mayor, Cllr Jason Baker, and featured 1k, 5k and 10k runs on Sunday.
Cash collected by the events will be split between Cancer Research UK, the Memory Cafe in support of Alzheimer’s, mental health charity South Somerset MIND, and Little Daffodils baby and infant loss support service.
Cllr Baker said: “It went really well and we had more than 70 runners, including 20 children who did the 1k fun run.
“For a first event it was really good and everyone enjoyed themselves.
“We are already looking at doing another one, maybe next spring.
“Then we are going to look at making it annual, or maybe twice a year.”
The event has was sponsored by TP Awards and Tesco.
