DOWLISH Wake’s revamped village hall hosted a successful show at the weekend, building on last year’s event.
The community enjoyed the Speke Hall’s new kitchen’s for their refreshments as they sampled the best of the flower, vegetable and craft show.
Pippa Sage, who is on the show’s committee, said: “It went very well. It was a wonderful feeling, having the hall looking so beautiful.
“It was a great success and we had some very positive feedback.
“We did a lot of tea selling and made £170 from teas, and had more entrants than last year.
“One feedback was that it was great and they will definitely be back next year, so that is great.”
The New Inn shield, given for most points in the entire show, went to Sally Gale.
