A COMMUNITY radio station has enjoyed a successful launch coinciding with the start of the local football season.

Three Valleys Radio was established in May of this year, but is now seeing growing numbers of listeners as Yeovil Town FC’s broadcast partner.

The station champions grassroots football reporting from the Yeovil & District Football League, The Perry Street and Devon County Leagues.

It also has horse racing and cricket coverage with appearances from Cheltenham Gold Cup winning trainer Colin Tizzard and regular contributions from Jason Kerr, head coach of Somerset County Cricket Club.

Station Manager Adrian Hopper said: “We created Three Valleys Radio to put local sport and local issues first and hope our station’s down-to-earth, yet informative and engaging style will act as a valuable service for people in our area and those further afield who want to tune in for a taste of home.”
