TWO award-winning wildlife artists from the Forest of Dean are returning to Ilminster Arts Centre with Town & Country.

This exhibition explores the beauty and wonder of the British countryside.

Chris Sinden and Jackie Cox, the exhibiting artists, said: “In a time where there is a growing need to feel concerned for our planet and for our own environment it is essential that we all appreciate and protect the fauna and flora that we have around us.

“This new exhibition depicts some of the species that inspires us. We hope that visitors to Ilminster Arts Centre will feel inspired too.”

Chris and Jackie last exhibited in Ilminster in 2017, but visitors to the Arts Centre will know their work because Chris’ greetings cards and Jackie’s hand-painted silk scarves are stocked in the craft shop.

Chard & Ilminster News:

Graphic designer Chris captures wildlife subjects using linocuts, an exacting medium that he has made his own.

He said: “Over the years I have developed a style of printing using slightly unmatched colours and details and an irregular shaped format to create a unique collage-style appearance.”

Jackie is an award-winning artist who works in coloured pencils and scraperboard. She regularly exhibits with the UK Coloured Pencil Society and has won several awards.
