THREE contestants from this year's MasterChef are hosting a pop-up restaurant evening in Chard.

The trio, who all featured on the 2019 series of the BBC TV show, will be at the Lordleaze Hotel on August 17.

The South West stop is just one of the many events they are holding under their new business Salt Kitchen.

Salt Kitchen is the creation of contestants Stephen Ford, 50, from Caerphilly, Wales who came 11th, Alex Talbot, 43, from Hindon, Wiltshire, who came sixth, and Thomas Elson-Knight, 26, from Plymouth, Devon, who reached the final five - from thousands of applicants.

Guests at the pop up Banquet can enjoy dishes such as Zhoug Guineafowl, Wild Boar with Smoked Chilli Jam, Apple Smoked Mackerel and Schechuan and blood orange crème brûlée.

Mr Elson-Knight said: "SALT Kitchen has established itself as an exciting brand, whereby we are bringing fine dining with a modern twist into client homes, restaurants and pop ups all over the London and South of England.

"We have prepared tasting menus for private dinners, pop up dinners for more than 80 and even for celebrities.

"We love showcasing our food and it is so exciting for people to experience it first hand rather than via their screens."

Tickets for SALT Kitchen are now on sale and cost £65 per person plus booking fee for a Banquet tasting menu, trio of desserts and appetisers.
