Zizzi Taunton has pledged to help a local charity after extensive refurbishment work.

Zizzi is hosting a ‘pay as you feel’ afternoon on Saturday, August 3 from 2pm until 5.30pm.

The first 100 diners into the restaurant will have the chance to try dishes from the new summer menu and pay what they feel the food is worth, with all proceeds being donated to Love Musgrove.

Love Musgrove is the official charity of Musgrove Park Hospital. The charity aims to improve the experience of patients by funding equipment, services and staff training beyond the remit of the NHS.

Zizzi's has been designed to keep the original features in-tact and pay respect to the building’s heritage - including the high vaulted ceilings and arched windows, whilst adding in some new Zizzi design touches – including a mural inspired by the River Tone which winds its way through the feature wall mural.

The restaurant décor has also been inspired by its past as a school, with features such as hand-written blackboards.

Somerset County Gazette:

Richie Collins, Restaurant Manager at Zizzi Taunton, said: “We could not be happier with the refurbishment of our stunning restaurant. The Tudor House setting is something really unique and we’ve enhanced the building’s original features as well as adding in some local touches to the décor.

“We’re also proud to be supporting Love Musgrove, who do incredibly important work with the hospital. We hope to see lots of the community coming back into the restaurant for a brilliant afternoon.”

Zoe Steer, Head of Fundraising at Love Musgrove, said: “We’re delighted that Zizzi is reopening its doors and supporting Love Musgrove with the pay as you feel afternoon.

"The money raised from the event will support the refurbishment of our maternity unit, which includes creating a space dedicated to supporting women who have high dependency needs during birth and an expansion of our antenatal clinic.”
