MORE than 50 people packed into Mecca Bingo in Taunton as talented people battled it out for the chance to win Taunton's Got Talent trophy.

On Sunday (July 21) under 18's finalists Molly Ascott, Eva Collins, Lilla Prichard, The Limelight Theatre Company and Jessica Lavender wowed crowds as they performed musical and dance numbers in a bid to impress the judges.

But it was Eva Collins who was crowned the winner by judges Andrew Knutt, Trish Caller, Craig Stone and Steve Keniston and took home a prize of £350.

After lunch the over 18's finalists took to the stage.

The judges enjoyed musical performances from Jack Humphries, Charlie Hamilton, Lianne Vessier and Palk & Woolley and laughed at magic tricks and impressions from Alex Finlayson and Alan Hitchcott.

After much deliberation the judges crowned Palk & Woolley as the over 18's winners for their original song and presented them with their £500 prize.

Speaking about their win, Palk & Woolley, said: "We just can't believe it, we are so honoured to have been chosen as the winners for Taunton's Got Talent 2019.

"All of the other acts were fantastic and should be very proud of their performances.

"Thank you so much for choosing us as this year's winner, we are so happy."
