A NEW food and drink festival is coming to Crewkerne this July.

Planned for Saturday, July 20, in the town centre, this free all-day festival will be showcasing some local food and drink producers alongside a line-up of free entertainment.

Backed by the town council, eat:Crewkerne will have more than 70 food and drinks producers - including farmers’ markets favourites like ales, bread and cheese alongside street food showcasing world flavours made with local ingredients.

Sarah Milner Simonds, organiser, said: “We are proud of the festivals we created and have had a warm welcome in Crewkerne.

“We have attracted some excellent food and drink producers and we hope visitors will be interested in the stories behind the produce.

“Crewkerne is a cracking town with an incredible range of independent stores and an antiques trail - we hope visitors to the festival will explore Crewkerne and become new regular visitors.”

The festival will be taking place in the Market Place, Falkland Square and Henhayes Centre.

There will also be a Cook School - a series of drop in, hands on workshops hosted by Delicious in Taunton’s Chrissie Godfrey.

She will be making vegan Italian treats between 10.30am and 12.30pm, and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

These are suitable for ages eight years and older, and designed for families to work together.

The festival runs 10am to 4pm.
