A PUB on the outskirts of Taunton has been sold for more than £250,000.
The Queen's Arms, Pitminster, has been sold to a pub investor who 'intends to keep the business going'.
The pub was set to go up for auction through Clive Emson Auctioneers for a guide price of £250K-300K. But before it went under the hammer, an offer was made 'well into' the guide price, which was accepted.
The property features large owners' accommodation, a large car park and a skittle alley.
Auctioneer, Graham Barton, said: “There was considerable interest in this handsome and sizeable public house prior to auction.
“One interested party was so keen to acquire the property that they made an offer in excess of the freehold guide, which was accepted.
“The new owner now has the option of continuing in the licensed trade or adopting an alternative use for the property, subject to the necessary consents.”
A converted mill house, public and lounge bars, dining areas and function rooms were included in the lot.
The Queen’s Arms was auctioned jointly with JLL of Exeter.
