BUDDING chefs can get some expert advice in Somerset this month - from a Masterchef finalist.

Celebrity chef Angela Langford will be at Pippard’s Court, off Pester’s Lane, Somerton on Saturday, January 19, giving visitors to the new development the benefit of her skills.

Taking place between 11am and 3pm, fresh ingredients will be sliced, steamed, boiled and baked as Angela whisks up easy-to-make delights such as canapes with freshly-sourced ingredients, quirky salads plus hot chocolate with coconut milk instead of cream of full fat milk.

There will also be a few surprises in store in the day, with healthy eating – as part of Elan Homes’ commitment to promote healthy lifestyles – underpinning a range of dishes designed to be easy to make.

Attendees to the free and open-to-all event can pick up takeaway recipes to replicate at home.

Angela will be entertaining and inspiring visitors in The Croscombe show home kitchen.

David Summers, regional managing director for Elan Homes (Midlands), said: “We can’t wait for Angela to showcase The Croscombe’s luxury kitchen at our open event which is sure to be filled with tempting aromas of the highest standards of cooking. After all, her high standards impressed Masterchef hosts John Torode and Gregg Wallace plus Marcus Wareing and Tom Kerridge.”

Angela – whose parents once ran a successful restaurant and hotel in Somerton – also owns her own skincare brand.

She also has a pop-up restaurant and, along with being a regular guest at food festivals, has been a guest judge on BBC1’s Masterchef following her original appearance, when she reached the finals in 2014.

David added: “We are delighted to welcome Angela to cook up a storm. She comes with excellent pedigree and will certainly put our show home through its paces and prove that the contemporary living space is up to the rigours of modern living.”

The launch event takes place on Saturday, January 19 from 11am to 3pm.
