POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly seriously sexually assaulted in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The assault happened not far from the Malt Shovel pub on Wembdon Road between 4.45am and 5.20am on Tuesday, January 1.
A woman was assaulted by a man as she walked home from a night out.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, especially if they were driving and may have dash cam footage.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We’re also keen to trace a man seen on CCTV in the area at around that time.
"He is described as being aged in his 40s, with a bald or shaved head. He wore jeans and a large white hooded jacket."
Anyone who recognises the man in the picture, or may have other information which could help, contact 101 and reference 5219/000407.
