A FIGHT at a South Somerset village pub has sparked an investigation by police.

Emergency services were called to Stoke-sub-Hamdon on Boxing Day 2018 after reports of a disorder.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "The incident happened at the Fleur de Lis pub at about 7pm and involved three offenders.

"A 55-year-old man suffered facial injuries after being headbutted by one of the offenders and significant damage was caused to the pub, including five smashed windows.

"The three men made off from the scene on foot.

"Two men, aged 21 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and released under investigation.

"We’re appealing for anyone in the pub at the time, who hasn’t yet spoken to the police, to come forward. We’d also like to speak to anyone with information on who was involved."
