JUST before Christmas it was revealed a plan to convert Bridgwater's current Post Office in Eastover in a tanning salon could still go ahead after Sedgemoor District Council's refusal of the application was turned over on appeal.
Here Mrs James from Bridgwater argues maybe it would be a good thing, if it meant the Post Office could move back to the town centre:
Regarding the new proposals for the Post Office. The Post Office should be in the centre of town which is in the Cornhill area, where it was for years.
Try directing visitors to the town either on foot or in a car - it is hopeless and they give up.
Your photo in last week's paper - the Post Office was disgusting.
There have been plenty of opportunities in the past with empty shops in Fore Street which are now taken up with cigarettes and mobile phones shops.
Can anyone explain what the Celebration Mile is? I didn't know one existed.
Mrs James,
Bridgwater
