STUDENTS at Haygrove and Chilton Trinity have been busy working in tutor groups to design and build Christmas themed hampers.
This annual scheme involves filling the decorated boxes with generously donated food items, toys, clothes and more which are then given to those in need at Christmas time.
With the help of some Haygrove Year 11s, the hampers from both schools were taken to Victoria Park Community Centre in Bridgwater where their contents were sorted by volunteers, ready to be distributed to local families identified by Sydenham children’s centre, brain injury charity ‘Headway’, Bridgwater Food Bank and young adults looked after by SCC Leaving care staff in Bridgwater.
Gareth Hughes from Victoria Park Community Centre said: “We were once again amazed and surprised by the generosity of the two schools.”
