O2 is investigating after mobile customers reported no data services this morning.

The firm said it was 'aware' people were unable to use 3G, 4G or other data services - including in Taunton and around Somerset - and apologised for any inconvenience.

"We are aware our customers are unable to use data this morning," the company said.

"Our technical teams are working on the issue with high priority.

"We are really sorry and working as hard and as fast as we can to fix this."

O2 urged people to keep checking their 'service status' page - which gives information on network problems, but at around 7.35am it was showing as a 'good' service in the Taunton area, despite data services not working.

At just before 8am, the service status page was 'experiencing some technical problems'.
