A DOG has finally been reunited with her owner after going missing for nearly six months.

Daisy the Jack Russell went missing in February after running off to chase a scent when her owner was visiting a friend in Ilminster.

Despite hours of searching Daisy was nowhere to be seen and hopes of finding her diminished after the months went by.

Christine Walker, from Canine Capture UK organised a poster campaign to help find the pup.

She scoured the local footpaths with the help of the other volunteers, but sadly they had no luck in finding Daisy.

Social media was also used to help find the precious pooch, but attempts to find Daisy remained unsuccessful.

Until Daisy’s owner, Emma, who lives Ashburton, Dartmouth, was finally reunited with her beloved pet at Minster Vets on Friday (August 24).

Emma came to the Ilminster-based vets and was met by a very excitable dog, who hadn’t seen her owner in nearly six months.

HAPPY: Emma and Daisy the dog

Jenna Pearce, Minister Vets, said: “On Friday a scruffy little Jack Russell was found wandering around the supermarket car park and was brought into us.

“An identichip was picked up but had not been registered to anyone.

“The next day, a photo of the dog was posted on Facebook, to which Christine Walker and the other volunteers responded.

“Christine came into the surgery and confirmed the dog was Daisy.

“We contacted Daisy’s owner and several hours later, we all witnessed a very excited dog greet her very emotional owner.”

Daisy’s owner was left speechless and overwhelmed by the emotional reunion.
