WITH a little more than two months until carnival season kicks off in South Somerset, Chard’s carnival committee is calling on people to help out by manning the streets on the big night.
The organising group are hoping to muster a team of around 80 marshals for October 13.
Around 10 volunteers are also needed to to travel to other carnivals and help out with marshalling.
Jason Baker, of the Chard Carnival Committee, said: “We are looking for people to help marshal at Chard Carnival and others as part of a team.
“We marshal at nine Carnivals across Somerset and in return they send marshals to our Carnival.
“Chard needs over 80 marshals and a team of 10 people to travel to other carnivals – could you help?
“In return for marshalling the towns provide food and drink as well as a great carnival to watch.
“No experience is necessary as any training required will be given and we always work in teams and can arrange lift shares.”
If you think you may be able to help out, contact the Chard Carnival Committee through their facebook group, email chardcarnival@outlook.com or call 07736310805.
