SPORTING stars found a leading role in this year’s Winsham scarecrow competition.
Despite the main themed for the 2018 event being ‘food and farming’, World Cup fever seemed to have gripped a number of villagers as England shirt and football kits sneaked into a number of displays.
Winsham saw more than 40 differently designed scarecrows lining the streets for the annual fun.
Jacqui Weller, of the Winsham Street Fair, said there were “some wonderful models, especially in Church St and Western Way.”
The entries were judged on Friday and the winners announced at the fair.
