A FESTIVAL combining cider and music which is being held just outside of Ilminster is back for its second year running.

Last year’s inaugural BroadCider event was hailed as a great success, with tickets selling out and the weather holding up for a good day out.

Bands on offer included Skimmity Hitchers, King Tuts Revenge, Palooka 5 and the Surfin’ Birds.

This year it is back again, brought to the grounds of Broadway and Horton Cricket Club thanks to promoters Fuelled by Cider.

The one-day cider and music festival is now fast approaching and it is set to take place in the village on Saturday, July 14.

The organisers are again promising a great day out filled with live music and the best in local ciders.

Kev Davis, from the promoters Fuelled By Cider, said: “The music and cider scenes are currently booming in Somerset.

“This is a great way to enjoy both of them together in a lovely location.

“Last year’s event was brilliant fun and we’re anticipating the same positive response this time.”

The 2017 festival sold out all tickets in advance and some of the funds raised went to help the cricket club.

This year’s event will be run along the same lines but with a new line-up of music running from midday until 11pm.

A diverse range of acts will be performing, including Ocean Sunset View, John D Revelator, Sam Cockram, Redfoot Rockabilly, Jack Humphries and Last One Home.

Palooka 5 will also be appearing for the second year running, following on from a recent sold out album launch gig in Taunton and featuring on Gideon Coe’s BBC Radio 6 show.

West Country festival favourites Black Water County will be headlining the night with their high energy Irish / folk-punk sound.

Tickets for the day are £15 for adults, with reduced prices for under 18s and under 5s.

There is also limited camping for tents and camper vans available, which must be pre-booked online.

Advance tickets are available in person from Bath Place Music in Taunton, and from Horton Post Office.
