PEDESTIANS are being warned to take care to avoid injuries from slipping on icy pavements tomorrow (Friday).
And motorists and bus and rail travellers could be affected by longer journey times.
The county has been put on ice alert for tomorrow morning.
The MetOffice has issued a 'yellow warning' for the county between 4am and 10am, advising people to keep an eye on the latest forecast as conditions could worsen.
A MetOffice spokesman said that following rain this evening, temperatures will fall quickly later in the night allowing ice to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads. A few wintry showers will follow.
He added: "Some injuries from slips and accidents on icy surfaces are possible.
"Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."
