CHARD Town have a big local derby at Zembard Lane tomorrow (Saturday), when they will be looking to complete the Toolstation Western League First Division double over neighbours Sherborne Town (3pm).

Back in August, Chard won 5-2 at Sherborne with Taoufik Ben Salem netting four times.

Added spice is added to the clash, as two players from each side have swapped clubs since the previous meeting.

Ollie Pearson and Alex Stafie have joined Chard from Sherborne, whilst Luke Jackson and Nick Jacobs have moved in the opposite direction.

Chard have two players back, as Ben Haines and Matt Howell return having completed one match bans.

The only Chard doubt is Steve Friend, who picked up a dead leg last Saturday and was replaced at half time by the returning Stafie. Dave Duarte is unavailable due to work.

Chard manager Paul Down said: “I am expecting a tough encounter, as Sherborne’s league position will count for nothing. It is bound to be feisty but our home form has been good of late and we go into the game with confidence.”

Chard Reserves, whose match last Saturday was postponed, have a trip to Taunton Saturday League side Bishops Lydeard Reserves in the quarter-final of the Somerset Junior Cup (1.45pm).
