FIREFIGHTERS were called to a farm near Chard to reports a chimney had caught alight.
The occupant in Woodhayes, Whitestaunton, called the fire service reporting that the chimney was alight at around 6pm yesterday (November 2).
Two engines from Chard attended due to the size of the property and complex layout of the chimney.
The fire was under control at around 7pm.
The incident involved a wood burning stove and inglenook fire place.
The wood burner was removed by the fire service so crews could access the chimney and extinguish the fire using chimney gear.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots and the area was made safe.
The service left duty of care with the owners.
