A MAN with ginger dreadlocks and a beard is being hunted by police after an assault in Crewkerne.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the assault near North Street shortly before 8pm on Sunday evening.
An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: "We are seeking the public’s help following an assault in Crewkerne at the weekend.
"It happened shortly before 8pm on Sunday evening when a man went out to the communal bins area in Barley Yard, which is off North Street.
"The victim was spoken to by the suspect, who then assaulted him on the leg, before running off along North Street.
"The victim suffered grazing to his leg, which did not require any treatment.
"The suspect is described as a white man, about 5ft 8ins of large build and in his mid-20s. He had ginger coloured dreadlocks style hair and a beard.
"He was wearing a black hooded top and dark coloured jeans."
