A MAN living near Minehead is due to appear in court later this month charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the death of a 28-year-old woman last year on the Ilminster Bypass.
Benjamin James French Bowman was at the wheel of an Isuzu Trooper vehicle which was involved in a three-car crash which resulted in the death of Laura Barbosa Garrido from Spain.
She was the third fatality in as many weeks on the notorious stretch of road on the A303 during July 2015.
Bowman, 48, of Great House Street, Timberscombe, is charged that on July 7, 2015 at Ilminster he caused the death of Ms Garrido by driving a vehicle dangerously on the A303 Ilminster Bypass.
He had been due to attend a hearing before Somerset Magistrates at Yeovil last week, but it was adjourned in his absence until August 22 when he is expected to enter his plea.
