PARENTS of Hinton St George pupils were invited into the school last week as it hosted a presentation on developing reading.
The session, at Hinton St George C of E First School, was a chance to understanding how children's reading develops through Key Stage 1 and further into Key Stage 2.
Sarah Kinnersly, a class teacher and Literacy Co-ordinator at the school, said: "We looked at how parents can best support their child at home with their reading, through encouraging them to use different strategies for decoding words as well as asking key questions to help the child deepen their understanding of the text they are reading."
