POLICE are appealing for help after unique jewellery was stolen from a car in Buckland St Mary near Chard.
Hallmarked bangles and earrings were in a handbag in a parked car when it was snatched.
The owner parked the car in a lay-by at Castle Neroche monument in Buckland St Mary at about 7.20pm on Sunday April 8.
Police say she saw two men in the area and heard a smashing sound but thought nothing of it.
When she returned to her car at about 8.45pm she discovered that the rear passenger window had been smashed and her handbag taken.
Although the handbag has since been recovered the contents, including a digital camera, are still missing.
The gold on silver bangles and earrings are made by the victim, are hallmarked as sterling silver and have the mark of the bottom half of a circle containing the initials 'PB.' Anyone offered the jewellery or any shops that are approached are being urged to contact police at Crewkerne on 0845-4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
