ASHLANDS First School has raised £429 in aid of the new Special Care Baby Unit at Yeovil Hospital.
Clair Findlay and James Kirton, head of fund-raising for the hospital, along with the school pupils, all worked hard to raise the funds with a cake sale and various other activities and collections.
Mrs Findlay said: “We are proud of all of our pupils – we set them a target and they have raised much more than we had hoped for.”
Mr Kirton added: “Ashlands is an amazing school with a real community focus and Crewkerne is a fantastic town with a generous population.
“I really want to thank all the parents and relatives who have contributed. It is only a small school but they have done really, really well.”
