PLANS to convert the former ladies public toilets in Ilminster have been given approval by councillors.
The toilets, in West Street, will be converted into office space and despite a mixed reaction by councillors over the use of the building, they decided to approve the plans.
Cllr Emma Jane Taylor said she was struggling to see how it was a useable space due to its small size but Cllr David Miller said it was not for the town council to decide on business viability.
Cllr Sophie Storey said: “We do need more office space for smaller businesses and this is something a bit different – they obviously feel they can use it otherwise they would have put in the application.”
Cllr Miller voted to approve the plans, which councillors agreed.
