TWO star-studded charity concerts to raise money for Somerset’s flood victims have been cancelled due to a ‘lack of support’.
Toploader, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel and Reverend & The Makers were to play two shows in Bridgwater and Yeovil for the Somerset Community Foundation next month.
Announcing the news, music promoter and event organiser Dan Smith said he ‘had no option’ but to cancel.
He said: “I am upset that this didn’t gain the support we hoped for and feel cancelling now is the best thing to do.”
He added: “I gave this my best shot and done all physically possible to make this a success, working day and night to secure the bands.
“Obviously, refunds can be obtained from place of purchase.
“It’s a shame it’s come to this but I would like to thank the few of you that did support this.”
