A 24-HOUR exhibition along the theme of ‘Sleep and Rest’ is now on display at Musgrove Park Hospital’s gallery.
Exploring the states of rest, sleep and dreams, and delving into fairytales, the artwork compliments ongoing research by the hospital’s Lung Centre consultants into sleep patterns and the treatment of sleep disorders.
Exhibiting, are Alice Jones, with her ethereal self portraits, inspired by sleep studies in London hospitals, and Nina Kleinzeller, with mixed media pieces incorporating pillow cases and duvet covers.
There are also large wooden reliefs, drawn from an over-sized bed previously installed in a nearby wood, inviting passers-by to ‘sleep, perchance to dream’.
The art display runs until Monday March 31 in the link between the Queens and Duchess Buildings.
