TWO Chard men have been handed lengthy prison sentences for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear during an incident in Dwelly Close in the town.
Lotsy Burns, 22, of Boden Street, and Marvin Hagler Saunders, 25, of Dominy Close, pleaded guilty to possession of the weapon, an MK4000 single barrel shotgun, at a hearing earlier this month.
During sentencing at Bristol Crown Court last Thursday, Burns was sentenced to five years in prison and Saunders seven years.
Police have been instructed to destroy the weapon that was found in their possession.
