YOUNG bookworms have been set the task of reading six books this summer to win prizes.
Libraries across the Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne area are inviting children to navigate their way through the Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge in which they can collect stickers and fill in a Mythical Maze poster.
More than 7,000 youngsters took part in the initiative, run by Somerset County Council, last year.
Every youngster who completes the challenge will not only be given a certificate and a medal, but will be entered in a draw for the chance to win prizes, including a day trip to Wookey Hole and @Bristol.
Readers can create a profile, chat about books and play games online at www.mythical-maze.org.uk A free Mythical Maze mobile app has also been developed – visit iTunes to download.
The Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge runs until Saturday, September 13.
