THOUSANDS of Somerset students will be getting their A-level and GCSE exam results this month and making plans for September.

But careers education, information, advice and guidance specialists Connect South West want to remind people that the start of the new term is not just for young people.

Chief executive Rachel Bendall said: “During September there are lots of career options available, whatever your age or situation may be.

“It is never too late to improve your skills, do some extra training, change career or get involved in some voluntary work.”

Connect South West is one of the providers delivering the Nextstep service to people in Somerset.

Nextstep provides face-to-face careers education, information, advice and guidance sessions for individuals aged 20 plus, whatever their current employment situation.

We have skilled and dedicated advisers who are able to give advice on a range of topics.

Rachel Bendall added: “Just about everybody needs help with improving their skills, finding work or changing their job at some point in their lives.

“We are urging adults across Somerset to come and speak to us to find out about the options available to them.”
