IT'S Adult Learners' Week and a Somerset man has added his backing to the cause by saying it is never too late to change your career.

Upon reaching burnout thanks to the extreme pressures of work, Kieran Tomes took time out to re-evaluate his life and decided on a complete career change.

After re-training as a Personal Trainer the 37-year-old has launched his own thriving business and has never been happier… A former freelance fashion stylist and lecturer, Kieran found that his workload and partying lifestyle eventually caught up with him.

Realising that he couldn't continue, he checked himself into rehab for six months in 2005 and then took time out to re-evaluate his life.

Having started to look after himself both physically and mentally, Kieran, who'd always had an interest in fitness, decided that he'd like to try and help others to feel better about themselves too.

He trained with Lifetime as a fitness instructor and personal trainer and launched his own business, 'Fashion n Fitness', in April 2009.

He said: “I believe physical training is much more than looking after someone's physical state, it's also about looking after their psychological wellbeing.

“I get a great deal of satisfaction from my job now and feel that my clients really appreciate what I can do for them.”
