Willow Cottage lies within the popular village of Muchelney with its renowned Abbey and Church of St. Peter & St. Paul. The thriving town of Langport is within 2 miles where an excellent range of shopping, recreational and scholastic facilities can be found. There are numerous walks around the surrounding area and in particular along the River Parrett where various water sports can also be enjoyed, including Kayaking and Paddle boarding. Muchelney is also well placed being within 4 miles of Martock and Long Sutton with its 18-Hole Golf Course. The A303 is also readily accessible being approximately 5 miles from the property and the M5, junction 25 on the outskirts of Taunton is within 12 miles.

Willow Cottage is a most delightful period property constructed principally of Blue Lias stone with part brick exterior elevations and contained beneath a part thatched and tiled roof. In recent years the property has undergone a refurbishment programme, which includes hardwood (Idigbo) double glazed windows throughout the cottage. Bespoke Ash and Oak internal doors, two Inglenook fireplaces, both with Clearview wood burning stoves. Oil fired central heating with attractive cast iron radiators throughout. Exposed beams, flagstone flooring and slate window sills.

The cottage has an open plan feel with a spacious kitchen/diner/family room with log burner being within the heart of the house, along with a large walk-in larder and utility room. The ground floor also enjoys a separate living room again with Inglenook fireplace, separate study and a shower room. On the first floor can be found three double bedrooms along with a family bathroom. Outside there are attractive cottage gardens with views towards the church, along with the added benefit of an attached garage and off road parking.

A solid timber door opens into the heart of the house with an open plan kitchen/diner/family room with flagstone flooring throughout, exposed beams and a superb Inglenook fireplace with inset Clearview log burner, with beam over and staircase rising to the first floor. There is plenty of room for a dining table and sofas, together with views from two aspects, including glazed French doors to the garden. The kitchen area has a Belfast sink with a slate worktop and reclaimed Elm cupboards beneath. Opposite can be found a space for a range style cooker with stainless steel hood over, together with further slate worktops with hand-built cupboards under. Beyond the kitchen area is a small lobby area with the glazed French doors leading out onto the garden, useful walk-in larder with Elm worktop, tiled walls to three sides and doorway leading to the garage. Opposite is the utility room comprising two bowl Belfast sink with cupboards and drawers beneath, a further range of wall mounted cupboards and space for fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

There is a small inner hall with under stairs cupboard and adjoining shower room with large walk-in shower, low level WC and circular granite sink on a wooden top with shelving beneath. The living room is a delightful space with Inglenook fireplace, with flagstone hearth and beam over; inset Clearview log burner with back boiler connected to the thermal store, giving heat and hot water to the main bathroom.. Recessed shelving to the side, exposed beams and two windows to front. Two display niches and an attractive York flagstone floor which we have been informed was taken from Somerton Market Square. Adjoining a doorway leads to the Study with window to rear and a boiler cupboard housing the oil-fired boiler. On the first floor is a landing area together with three double bedrooms. Bedroom one benefits from two fitted wardrobes, along with two overhead cupboards. Bedroom two enjoys wonderful views to the South along with part vaulted ceilings and trap access to roof void. Bedroom three enjoys a similar southerly view along with part vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The family bathroom has been beautifully fitted with a deep freestanding Copper and Tin roll-top bath, along with a Copper sink on a slate top with storage under; low level WC and exposed beams. Attractive Elm floorboards, storage cupboard and adjoining airing cupboard housing the insulated thermal store.

Willow Cottage has the benefit of an adjoining garage which is approached through double timber doors and is connected with power and light, together with window to side and door leading into the walk-in larder. Adjoining the garage a 5-bar timber gate opens onto a gravelled driveway providing parking for two or three vehicles. The gardens lie to the rear of the cottage and are laid mainly to lawn, fenced and hedged giving much privacy. There is a superb entertaining area which is part gravelled, paved and decking area from which views towards Muchelney Church can be enjoyed. Within the garden there is a concealed oil tank and further enclosed area with log store and open fronted stone outbuilding set beneath a corrugated Perspex roof.
