SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS. TAUNTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) (SPECIAL EVENTS) ORDER 2018 (TAUNTON MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON) Notice is hereby given that Somerset County Council intends to make an order in pursuance of the provisions of Section 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of motor vehicles as detailed in the schedule below: The Order will be made to facilitate the Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon and is in the interest of public safety. All closures will be signed and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.

The Order shall come into operation at 0800 hours on Sunday 8* April 2018 and will continue in force until 1700 hours on Sunday 8th April 2018. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. All signage in respect of these road closures will be erected prior to, maintained throughout and removed immediately after the event.

A copy of the draft Traffic Regulation Order and the associated plans may be examined at (i) A Block Reception, County Hall, Taunton or (ii) online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO. Wellington Road, (from Bridgwater & Taunton College to Parkfield Road), Castle Street (in both directions), Tangier Way (in both directions), Wood Street from Tangier Way to Bridge Street (in both directions), Bridge Street (in both directions) and Staplegrove Road (from Bridge Street to Elm Grove) PART 3

Between the hours of 1030 and 1500 on Sunday 8s April 2018

Silk Mills Road (From Heron Drive to Bindon Road in both directions), Bishops Hull Hill (at its junction with Silk Mills Road)
