Dorset County Council Temporary Closure of Uplyme Road and Silver Street, Lyme Regis
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14  of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Uplyme Rd and Silver St, Lyme Regis from the junction of Pound Street to the junction with Woodroffe Meadow, a distance of approximately 1185 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 8 January 2018 between 0930 and 1530 and will remain in force for 18 months However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th January 2018. The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above. The closure is also weather dependant. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary. This order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway maintenance. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
