Temporary Closure of Bridge Street, Lyme Regis -Phases 1 &2
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BRIDGE STREET, LYME REGIS in two phases; Phase 1, between its junction with Coombe Street and Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre, a distance of approximately 30 metres. Phase 2, between Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre and Coombe Street, a distance of approximately 40 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. Phase 1 will come into operation on 6 January 2020 until 17 January 2020. Phase 2 will come into operation on 20 January 2020 until 14 February 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14 February 2020.
This Order will enable O'Brien Building Ltd, safe access to carry out phase 1 - to set up scaffolding and replace oriel window that was damaged by high sided vehicle. SGN, safe access to carry out phase 2 - to carry out gas mains replacement works.
