EMMA Britton of Radio Somerset, through group leader Philip Lloyd, visited Margaret and Michael Blackmore’s home to try her hand at handbell ringing.
The St Nicholas Hand-Bell ringing group has been re-formed about ten years, rings at care homes and fundraising events and practices each Monday morning at Margaret’s home.
Emma, with Edna Whitehead’s help, joined in the ringing of Danny Boy and Que Sera Sera. She acquitted herself with considerable success and enjoyed the experience.
Her producer, Dean Pullman, also tried his hand at ringing but admitted his musical background was not as good as Emma’s.
