ILMINSTER Arts Centre’s opening exhibition of 2015 will be showing work by its winning group of artists from the 2014 Art Open Exhibition.
Artists taking part include Linda Green, the West Country based mixed media artist who was the overall prize winner at the 2014 Open Exhibition and ceramicist Liz Green, who scooped the sculpture prize in the competition.
Other exhibitors are Pat Board, whose water colours reflect her passion for the natural world, as well as her training as a textile and surface pattern designer; watercolourist Nicky Clarke, and illustrator and graphic designer Leo Davey, whose diverse subject matter encompasses city and seascapes, children’s illustrations and travel posters.
Also taking part are Adrienne Fowles, who creates beautifully observed wildlife paintings; mixed media artist Anne Townsend; and Rodney West, whose naive maritime paintings, depicting sailing ships, tugboats and trawlers, are painted on driftwood that he collects himself.
This prize exhibition will show brand new work from these talented local artists and will include both 2D and 3D work.
The exhibition will be taking place between January 5 and 24, and admission is free.
