VISITORS to Ilminster Arts Centre are in for a treat in the run up to Christmas as the venue hosts ‘Christmas Magic’ - an enticing exhibition of top quality contemporary crafts by a range of makers - the majority of whom are completely new to the Arts Centre.

Co-organiser Caroline Mornement said: ‘Welcoming so many new craftspeople to Ilminster Arts Centre will give an exciting, fresh twist to our regular Christmas crafts exhibition, formerly known as The Christmas Collection. We have carefully selected artists and makers to create a display of beautifully made items that are ideal for special Christmas presents."

Those who are exhibiting include Lesley Fawcett (silk scarves and batik prints), Jackie Williams (pure wool scarves), Liz Oliva (hats), Debby Kirby (contemporary bow ties), Rachel Sumner (driftwood boats, painted silk ties and scarves), Kelly Fletcher (Jolly Red embroidery kits), Karen Young (artist’s books and brooches), Jane Paterson (artist’s books), Helen Edwards (pewter book marks, textile iPhone cases and small boxes), Carole Watson (vintage brooches), Claire Hall (lampwork glass jewellery), Rachel Reilly (wire jewellery), Holly Webb (silver jewellery), Lorraine Houlden (jewellery and rush baskets). Andy Millar (wood-turned pens and other desk top items), Clementine’s Gift Shop (hand-marbled books and boxes), Buffy Fletcher (knitted clothing), Cathy King (lino cut prints), Judy Crosher (porcelain bowls), Rodney Lawrence (ceramics featuring his signature bird decoration), Pauline Zelinski (ceramic bowls and platters),Nicola Werner (majolica-inspired pots and tiles), Colin Clements (carved wooden birds),Robert Race (automata), and Heather Mundy-Castle (hand painted wrapping paper).

The exhibition runs until Tuesday December 23 from 9.30am-4.30pm on Mondays - Fridays, and Saturdays from 9.30am - 2.30pm.
