LOTS of well-known personalities will be visiting Yeovil for the town’s literary festival next month.

The three-day festival, now in its second year, will expand into comedy, welcoming performances from Al Murray, Katherine Ryan, Four Screws Loose – fresh from their fifth Edinburgh Fringe show – and David Mitchell and Jo Caulfield, who will be talking about their new books.

The festival also welcomes Shirley Williams, co-founder of the Lib Dems, and Antiques Roadshow’s Paul Atterbury in his exploration of First World War stories.

Rachel Joyce, author of the worldwide best-seller The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry will be sharing her latest work, and two of Britain’s best-loved actors, Juliet Stevenson and Samuel West, perform in Nocturne, a look into the life of renowned composer Frederic Chopin.

The voice of Russian and Romanov history, Helen Rappaport, will also be speaking, along with Michael Portillo, Robert Llewellyn and local writers and historians.

The event, from November 6-9, will be at the Octagon Theatre, along with The Manor Hotel, Yeovil Library and Brimsmore Garden Centre.
