FANS of the arts are encouraged to head to Chard venues as Somerset Arts Weeks draw to a close on Sunday.

Artworks have been on display at Venues 83 and 84, Lopen, and other Somerset locations.

Alongside the exhibitions there have been demonstrations of wood-turning by Rod Page at weekends, basket-making by Jo Mills and print-making.

Angela Naunton Davies has been showing new prints of grasses in her Mangle House working studio setting, Venue 83, joined this year by emerging artist and print-maker Joanna Briar.

For those interested in ceramics there is a retrospective display and information about the work of nationally renowned Lopen resident potter Harry Horlock-Stringer, who died earlier this year.

At Venue 84, Pauline Rook is displaying her familiar rural documentary photos, as seen on BBC1’s Countryfile, alongside new work on flowers and images from her recent travels around the British Isles – Scilly to Shetland.

Other artists include James Cowden, who will have his books for sale at special prices.
For more information on the exhibitions and demonstrations call Pauline on 01460-240644.
