PPS screens Hoskins' latest film

THE Petherton Picture Show is screening Bob Hoskins' latest film Ruby Blue at The David Hall, South Petherton, on Friday.

The award-winning picture, which won best film at the 2008 London Independent Film Festival, stars British acting institution Hoskins, renowned for his roles in Mrs Henderson, Last Orders and Mona Lisa, as well as the French screen legend, Josiane Balasko.

It is also the first film for Jody Latham, known for his TV role of Lip Gallagher in Channel 4's Shameless.

As well as its accolade at the London Independent Film Festival, Ruby Blue won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival and Bob Hoskins won Best Actor Award at the Oxford International Film Festival in Ohio.

Writer and director Jan Dunn will be at The David Hall to answer questions from the audience after the screening.

The screening starts at 8pm and tickets cost £4.

Tickets are available from N & D News, St James Street, South Petherton or by calling 01460-240340.
